Hi,
I have a new blog because this one is super slow to load on my end.
Simple Life Joy
http://www.simplelifejoy.com/
My new blog is totally new and starting from scratch. I am not transferring over this blog, because of the size.
So thanks for all of the years at Domestic Lifestyle. It has been a good run….time for a new chapter.
1. We are all caught up in CHINA! Yep, Hillary got her letter and assignment for her program in China starting in late January until mid-June.
She is headed to Shiqi-Zhongshan, China across from Hong Kong 1.5 hour by Ferry.

I am going to do a huge blog post on this whole deal, so hang tight. We are all dying with excitement.
2. Noah nailed two home runs over the fence in Little League action this week to kick off the season opener. This little left-handed batter came out with vengeance after not being able to bat in the home run derby last week because he wasn’t 12 years old. He socked it to them and next game nailed the fence again. His team is 3-0.

3. I am continuing to lay low and do the motherhood thing. For some reason, this past year, since I have decided not to shoot photography professionally, I am getting more and more requests than ever. Last night, I got a call to shoot an event with Seth Meyers from Saturday Night Live at an event. It was for a Friday night in the near future and I already made plans and my plans include the Ritz Carlton….it was tough saying NO to that one!

4. My blog posts are photo less as of late- because it runs so slow. I am hoping today is our last post EVER and I can launch the new blog even if it is incomplete.
5. We are getting a couple of chickens! Brian is actually the one behind this. We have talked about it for at least a year as we have been trying to eat healthier and more organic, but have never done it. Our neighbors made the plunge and got us all excited. Yes, I think it will be fun to have a little bit of farm responsibility for the kids. Free range food ROCKS!

We spent most of our Saturday at the Aerospacefest 2012 where Chase was awarded The Alex Higgins Memorial Space Camp Scholarship Honorable Mention from NH Astronaut and Space Shuttle Commander Rick Searfross.
As keynote speaker, Searfross spoke of his 3 missions into space and his work in the private space industry. In the future, Chase hopes to study and work in aeronautics.
It was exciting to meet Searfross and hear of his tremendous life and contributions he has made in space.

Unfortunately, because Chase is an honorable mention he is not headed to the NASA Space Camp this summer and was quite disappointed. He will try again next year. He has always been fascinated with space and we have combined many homeschool events with his love of space.
Chase went to the NASA Glenn research center in Cleveland, Ohio two years ago and toured the facility and learned about the space station.
We spoke with some representatives that explained first hand what space was like. We had a personalized tour and tested many of the pieces of equipment that had been used in space.
In 2007, he went to the Flagstaff, AZ to the Lowell Observatory with his grandparents.
He has toured the Smithsonian Air and Space museum on several occasions.
As an Eagle Scout, space and astronomy have been some of his favorite topics to study for merit badges.
He wants to be a pilot, to fly and run machines in the sky and to experience gravity.
His goal is to attend the US Air Force Academy.
Maybe next year, he will experience Space Camp!
1. This has been a super boring, rainy week. It has been hard to get excited about much of anything. We need the rain, we were on the verge of drought.
2. We are continuing to throw out our house in light of the spring clean, yesterday I made a huge dent in our storage room, chucking everything in my path.
I am confused why we are storing anything we don’t use?
Two episodes of A & E’s Hoarders makes you visibly aware of all of the things that you don’t need.
3. I taught a photography class this week to a group of young women in Manchester, NH. It was really fun to sit and talk about it, I miss not being able to do more with it…… But family calls!
4. At 7:58am I am listening to my beautiful young harpist play a melody that is so relaxing I may fall back asleep. My bed screams cozy!
5. My hot husband flies lands in 30 minutes, I can’t wait to spend the next week with him! As much as I love sleeping with my 8 year old every night, being next to him will be fantastic. He has been in Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City.
